Yoga for Strength and Resilience

Strength is not just for gym-bunnies, and anyone can get stronger! The benefits of strength are well researched and known to help with energy, mood, anxiety, nervous system regulation, brain health, heart health and digestion.

In this retreat you will be guided expertly to enhance your strength at whatever level you are at right now. Niamh’s teaching has been described as “strength by stealth”! This is possible as Niamh guides you to find that perfect level of effort that makes demand on your strength… without over-straining.

Alongside traditional Yoga practices, Niamh adds resistance bands to help you enhance your usual Yoga or exercise habits. You’ll find this is actually a lot of fun, and not a boot-camp situation!

Fear not… REST is when the effort you have made creates the building of muscle to ready you for the next demands. So you will also enjoy the deep ease of Somatic Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Meditation.

Niamh is an internationally renowned yoga teacher and trainer who specialises in using Yoga to enhance our health and wellbeing through the stages of our lives. You will be in safe hands.

This is a retreat for you if:

You are in your 20s and 30s, when building strength can help you meet the major and minor life changes and challenges coming your way.

You are in your 40s and 50s, when strength can help with the physical, mental and emotional challenges as our bodies change, and are in a high-pressure time of life.

You are in your 60s and beyond, when strength can help you reduce risks to the health of your heart, bones and brain, and keep you feeling confident and capable to do the things you love.

Niamh is an internationally renowned yoga teacher and trainer who specialises in using Yoga to enhance our health and wellbeing through the stages of our lives.

Niamh is a registered Senior Yoga Teacher and has been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2004, and Yin Yoga since 2012, making her one of Ireland’s longest-standing teachers in that style.

In addition to running classes and workshops, and helping private clients through Yoga, Nutrition and Exercise, she created, and trains teachers worldwide in Yoga for Menopause.

Niamh has trained in Hatha Yoga, and studied and practiced many of the variations of Yoga from it’s more traditional roots in India, to new approaches and schools of yoga, and with world-renowned teachers in Yoga, Somatics, Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Nutrition and more. These perspectives drew her to a deep respect for the delicate strength of the human body and brain, and so she is particularly interested in using Yoga’s wide-ranging aspects to support muscle, bone, organ and brain health via movement, stress-reduction, and sleep support.

Niamh teaches from an evidence-based perspective, but also from the heart. You will learn tools that will help you move and live more freely, but your needs will be prioritised over any class plan, and you will be offered ways to help your body and nervous system love what you do.
