At the Burren Yoga Retreat, we offer much more than simply yoga.
We provide a space for deep transformation, where the ancient practices of yoga and meditation can bring about lifelong changes.
Our retreats are designed to guide you toward a profound sense of inner peace, clarity, and well-being.
This journey is made possible by our hand-picked team of exceptional teachers who don’t just teach yoga and meditation — they live it.
For over 5,000 years, meditation has been the cornerstone of the yoga.
Most of the physical postures were only developed in the last few hundred years, and 1,000 years ago there were only approx 6 yoga postures.
And all were sitting crossed legged postures.
While the physical postures (asanas) are vital for improving our health, increasing flexibility, and releasing physical and energetic blocks, it is the practice of meditation that leads to true inner change.
Our retreats seamlessly incorporate these two aspects of the wider ‘body of yoga practices’ together, offering a holistic experience that nurtures both your body and your spirit.
We believe that by creating stillness within, you can unlock a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.
Dave has hand-picked a team of experienced teachers to help you find your flow through meditation techniques, as well as postures.
Our exceptional teachers are the heart of our retreats.
Each one has been specially chosen for their expertise, their ability to teach compassionately, and their commitment to living the principles of yoga and meditation in their own lives.
This authenticity shines through in every class, creating an inspiring and supportive environment for everyone.
For complete beginners, our teachers introduce meditation in a clear, accessible, and enjoyable way.
They provide gentle guidance and practical techniques that help you feel comfortable and confident, even if it’s your very first time.
They are experienced to give you manageable bite size amounts of information, so that you will feel confident to continue your practice after you return home.
For those with more experience, our teachers offer deeper practices and more challenging postures, encouraging you to explore new levels of your being.
The various limbs of yoga work on our being in different ways to bring together a more unified balance of our whole being.
The physical postures remove physical and energetic blocks and helps prepare the body for deeper meditation.
Mindful breathing practices refine our inner energies and lead to inner states that are more conducive to meditation.
Each of these limbs of yoga support each other, and leads to increased benefits on all levels.
