Many botanists from all over the world visit the Burren in Spring. Burren is an extraordinary place where flowers that will only grow in acidic soil grown next to those that will only grow in alkaline soil. And this is why many botanists flock to this area.

The Burren is famous for its stunning biodiversity, and on our guided outings on our Spring retreats you will see a wide variety of Burren wildflowers.

In April, it is lovely to welcome back the intense, vivid blue of the Spring Gentians. These wildflowers are almost synonymous with The Burren.

As each week goes by, more wildflowers appear and each year it is like seeing old friends again.

As May approaches, the early purple orchids appear. These are the largest of the wild orchids that grown in the Burren, and the beautiful shapes of the flowers are incredible.

Shannon Airport just 50 minutes away and excellent public transport links of bus and train to Gort.

There is motorway about 95% of the way from Dublin, all the way to Gort which is 6 miles from the Burren Yoga Retreat.

The drive from Gort with the Burren pavement on either side of the road as one approaches the Burren hills is truly spectacular.
