Are you a positive-minded individual with a passion for hospitality and the great outdoors?
Burren Yoga Retreat is looking for a warm, welcoming, and organized person to join our team of Host Guides.
This unique role is the “face” of our award-winning retreat centre, ensuring our guests feel safe, supported, and inspired from the moment they arrive.
If you live within an hour’s drive of the Burren Yoga Retreat and are looking for meaningful, part-time work that aligns with a wellness lifestyle, we would love to hear from you.
The Burren Yoga Retreat has a very nice relaxed atmosphere and is a lovely place to work.
The Host Guide role is a beautiful blend of guest hospitality and outdoor leadership.
You will be responsible for the “flow” of the retreat, acting as the primary point of contact for our guests.
Your duties include:
• Warm Welcomes: Greeting guests as they arrive and helping them settle
• Guest Care: Being a supportive presence during the retreat, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and at home.
• Leading Guided Outings: Guiding our guests on walks through the Burren hills and along the coastline. You don’t need to be a botanist, but you do need to love Nature and be able to lead a group safely.
• Seamless Coordination: Liaising with our in-house chef and yoga teachers to ensure the retreat schedule runs smoothly.
This is a part-time position that offers great flexibility.
We currently have three Host Guides who share the retreat schedule between them.
Typically, a Host Guide works 1 to 2 retreats per month (either a weekend or a 6-night week-long retreat).
During the retreat, you will stay on-site in your own accommodation, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the peaceful atmosphere of the centre.
We are looking for someone who naturally radiates positivity.
Because we take a maximum of 18 guests, the atmosphere is intimate and personal.
Our ideal candidate has:
• Hospitality Experience: A background in customer service, hotel reception, or event hosting is a plus.
• Interpersonal Skills: You should be an active listener who genuinely enjoys dealing with people from all walks of life.
• Warm, Friendly, Sensitive: You should be able to chat to people and lift the energy if needed, and also be comfortable staying quiet
• Physical Fitness: You should be comfortable leading hill walks and spending time outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Where you live: Ideally, you live within an hour’s drive of the retreat centre.
• Own car: You will need to own your own car as you will need it during the retreats.
• Flexibility: The ability to work occasional weekends and week-long blocks.
