Quality Mindfulness and yoga weekend

Astrid brings mindfulness to your practice which brings peacefulness to your whole being, and helps you connect to a deeper level of your true self.

Astrid teaches Sivananda yoga using the breath and awareness to help you to bring your awareness inwards.

Her classes will include sun salutations, as well as gentle postures to help to loosen up the body and to remove energy blocks.

Astrid has been practicing yoga since 2007 and will inspire  you to continue a daily practice yourself when you return home after this weekend.

There is a meditation class in the morning and evening each day, and one of the benefits of our retreats is that you can then take these practices home with you.

Astrid has been teaching this Mindfulness and yoga weekend at the Burren Yoga Retreat for many years.

The Burren Yoga Retreat is located at the foot of the Burren hills nestled amongst the hazel trees.

You are surrounded with a vast choice of special places in the Burren where we go for hill walks, Nature Trail walks, walks by the sea, beautiful beaches and forests to explore.

There are lovely places to swim in the sea or in our nearby lake which heats up during the summer.

All our classes, outings and meals are optional, so you are free to join all or some as you please during the weekend.

However over 95% of people relish the freedom of not having to decide or choose what to do each day, and go with the full programme which is a well tried recipe which we have been running and improving on since 1999.

We are famous for our food and so many people have said they would come back time and time again just for the amazing vegetarian food.  Our chef will prepare all our vegetarian meals with organic and locally sourced vegetables and the finest ingredients.

Astrid will give more gentle variations to anybody who needs it, and will also challenge those who are ready for it.

Sivananda yoga Astrid Sasse

Astrid brings mindfulness to your practice which brings peacefulness to your whole being, and helps you connect to a deeper level of your true self.

Astrid is originally from Germany and has been living in Ireland since 2004. She first came across yoga in Denmark on a retreat with Eckhart Tolle in 2007.

When Astrid returned to Ireland she began going to regular yoga classes and soon developed her own daily practice.

She was fortunate to begin practicing meditation at an early stage which allowed her to experience the inner peace and stillness which developed through her regular meditation practice.

Over the years Astrid has studied yoga and meditation with many inspirational teachers including David Muehsam, Greg Walsh, Uma Dismore-Tuli, Deepak Chopra, Eckhardt Tolle, Kim Eng, Prahlada and Thich Nhat Hanh.
