Updated 23rd May 2022:
Over the past few months we have transitioned to a new-Normal social environment.
Please see more information at New-Normal Social Environment
Updated 1st May 2022:
Currently, in Ireland (1st May 2022), it is not mandatory to be vaccinated in order to book a hotel, guesthouse or yoga retreat.
We are following these guidelines and it is not mandatory to be vaccinated to book one of our retreats.
All our guests and staff must take a Covid antigen test the day before they arrive here, and email us a photo of your negative result.
They must bring with them at least 3 more antigen tests if booking a week-long retreat, or 1 more test if booking a weekend-only retreat.
All guests and staff also take an antigen test when they arrive at the centre.
And take an antigen test every 2nd day while here at the centre.
This is to provide extra safety since the arrival of the omicron variant.
Antigen testing and Omicron:
There is growing evidence that only doing nasal swabs are not effective in detecting Omicron.
It is recommended to swab both sides of the back of the throat first, and then both nostrils for the same test.
Apparently, Delta variant shows quite well just doing nasal swabs.
As Omicron is now the dominant variant, we are recommending that all staff and guests swab both the throat and nostrils.
Facemasks optional:
The Current Government Guidelines
advise that staff and guests do not need to wear a facemask.
However, if you are at a higher risk of being seriously ill if you catch covid, then you should wear a facemask.
We recommend that if you car-share that you wear a facemask due to the close proximity.
All our guests and staff must ensure that in the past 5 days before arriving
All our guests and staff must agree to
Current Government guidelines must be followed
Please check Irish Government guidelines about travel into Ireland.
Ensure that you have all the necessary paperwork and vaccinations that are required at the time that you plan to travel.
FFP3 facemasks
We recommend that you wear a FFP3 facemask at all times in the airport and also while onboard the plane.
You should also comply with our Covid Safety Guidelines outlined above in terms of antigen testing.
We have invested over €30,000 in 3 large ventilation systems in the new yoga centre.
We have also invested in large round dining tables in our new spacious dining room.
And implemented safety measures and cleaning regimes to ensure that the Burren Yoga Retreat remains a very safe environment.
